Jazzing up Summer 2015!

Burgundy Jazz is a multiplatform web documentary about Montreal's incredible contribution to jazz through the legendary Black musicians of Little Burgundy. Explore the webdoc and the companion iPhone app and eBook, and check out our summer 2015 activities, including guided tours and concerts! 

• GUIDED JAZZ TOURS with Leah Blythe

Catbird Productions is pleased to present a second summer of guided Montreal jazz tours. Visit Montreal's jazz hotspots accompanied by seasoned tour guide Leah Blythe, with the help of the free Burgundy Jazz iPhone app. This summer we have developed two unique tours for you: 

Tour A - Little Burgundy & the Black Community
Discover Little Burgundy’s historical community centres, Oscar Peterson’s birthplace, the Union United Church as well as key locations in the development of the historical black community in Little Burgundy and its influence on jazz.  
June 20 - 1pm
August 15 - 1pm  

Tour B - Night Clubs & Trains
Learn about all the former jazzy night-time hot spots like Café St-Michel and Rockhead's Paradise - and discover the connection between jazz and rail history in Montreal.
July 18 - 10am
September 19 - 10am

$20 each (taxes & fees included). Take both tours and get a limited edition Burgundy Jazz coffee mug or tote bag!

Having an iPhone with the free Burgundy Jazz app installed is recommended but not required.
Tours are given in English and last approximately 2 hours.

Leah is passionate about history and just about everything cultural. For more than two years, she has been creating and leading guided tours of Montreal, her adopted city. With this jazz enthusiast you will discover the fascinating history of Montreal’s jazz scene and of its Black community… step by step!
