• VISITES GUIDÉES JAZZ avec Leah Blythe
Catbird Productions est fier de présenter une deuxième saison estivale de visites guidées jazz à Montréal. Visitez les lieux du jazz en compagnie de l'animatrice Leah Blythe et avec l'application iPhone Jazz Petite-Bourgogne gratuit. Cet été, nous offrons deux visites guidées emballantes:

Visite A - La Petite-Bourgogne et la communauté noire
Découvrez les centres communautaires de l’époque, le lieu de naissance d'Oscar Peterson, l’Église Union United, ainsi que des lieux clés dans l’histoire des noirs dans la Petite Bourgogne et leur influence sur le jazz.

Visite B - Les clubs de nuit et les trains
Découvrez les lieux des anciennes boîtes de nuit jazz telles que le Café St-Michel and Rockhead's Paradise, ainsi que le lien entre l’histoire ferroviaire et le jazz à Montréal.

 Leah est une passionnée d’histoire et de culture. Elle crée et anime des visites guidées de Montréal, sa ville d’adoption, depuis plus de deux ans maintenant. Cette amatrice de jazz se fera un plaisir de vous raconter, pas à pas, l’histoire fascinante du jazz et de la communauté noire de la métropole.

Burgundy Jazz is a multiplatform web documentary about Montreal's incredible contribution to jazz through the legendary Black musicians of Little Burgundy. Explore the webdoc and the companion iPhone app and eBook here, and check out our summer 2014 activities, including guided tours, concerts, and presence at jazz festivals across Canada!

• GUIDED JAZZ TOURS with Leah Blythe
Catbird Productions is pleased to present a second summer of guided Montreal jazz tours. Visit Montreal's jazz hotspots accompanied by seasoned tour guide Leah Blythe, with the help of the free Burgundy Jazz iPhone app. This summer we have developed two unique tours for you:

Tour A - Little Burgundy & Black Community
Discover Little Burgundy’s historical community centres, Oscar Peterson’s birthplace, the Union United Church as well as key locations in the development of the historical black community in Little Burgundy and its influence on jazz.  

July 5 - 2 pm
July 19 - 4 pm
September 20 - 4 pm 

Tour B - Trains & Night Clubs
Learn about all the former jazzy night-time hot spots like Café St-Michel and Rockhead's Paradise - and discover the connection between jazz and rail history in Montreal.

Leah is passionate about history and just about everything cultural. For more than two years, she has been creating and leading guided tours of Montreal, her adopted city. With this jazz enthusiast you will discover the fascinating history of Montreal’s jazz scene and of its Black community… step by step!

Burgundy Jazz nominated for a Canadian Screen Award

Catbird Productions is thrilled to announce that Burgundy Jazz has been nominated for a 2014 Canadian Screen Award in the category Best Original Program or Series produced for Digital Media – Non-Fiction.

The award ceremony marking the best in Canadian film, television and digital media takes place over several days at the beginning of March.

Burgundy Jazz took home a Prix Boomerang in the Art & Culture Website category. The award ceremony took place last night at the Tohu in Montreal.

Catbird Productions is thrilled to announce that Burgundy Jazz took home the prize for Best Web Series Non-Fiction last night at the Digi Awards. Producer Katarina Soukup and director David Eng were on hand at the Carlu in Toronto to accept the award.
